Kress Mission: Boundary Wire Missing

This warning normally means the mower cannot detect a valid installation signal. Find out whether the break is in the perimeter loop, a connector, the station supply or the mower itself.

What this warning means

The message describes a missing usable loop signal, not necessarily a visibly severed wire. A poor connector, damaged station lead, loss of power or high-resistance joint can produce a similar symptom.

Before buying parts: record the exact mower model, displayed wording and what happened immediately before the warning.

Safe checks in the right order

  1. Confirm the charging station has power and note its status indication before disconnecting anything.
  2. Inspect both boundary-wire connections at the station. Tug each wire gently; a conductor can break inside its insulation near a connector.
  3. Check places disturbed recently by edging, scarifying, aerating, digging, fence work or animal activity.
  4. Inspect above-ground joints for corrosion or moisture. Use weatherproof gel connectors intended for buried boundary cable.
  5. If you have a known-good short test loop and are competent to connect it, use it at the station to separate the garden loop from the station/mower.

The charging station and mower can produce/read a signal; the fault is in the installed loop or its joints.

A short test loop is also missing

Recheck station power and connectors. A station transmitter or mower receiver fault becomes more likely.

The warning appears only in one lawn area

Look for signal interference, buried cable damage, parallel cables or an installation geometry issue in that area.

The error started after garden work

Begin at the disturbed area; this is the highest-probability break location.

Likely causes

  1. Cut or stretched perimeter wire
  2. Corroded, loose or unsuitable cable joint
  3. Boundary conductor broken near the station connector
  4. Loss of charging-station power or loop transmission
  5. Mower loop-signal receiver fault

When to stop: Disconnect station power before altering wiring. Do not open the mains power supply or station electronics.
