Kress Mission: Not Charging
Use these checks to distinguish a simple contact problem from loss of station power, a temperature lockout, battery deterioration or an internal charging fault.
What this warning means
A mower can be correctly parked yet receive no usable charging current. Dirt, moisture and poor alignment are common, but repeated failure after power and contact checks needs model-specific electrical diagnosis.
Before buying parts: record the exact mower model, displayed wording and what happened immediately before the warning.
Safe checks in the right order
- Confirm the wall outlet works with another appliance and that the station power supply is connected firmly.
- Switch the mower off safely. Clean and dry both sets of charging contacts and inspect them for burning, pitting or looseness.
- Reseat the mower and confirm that the contacts meet squarely without the mower rocking or rolling back.
- If the mower or battery is very hot or very cold, let it return to a normal ambient temperature before retrying.
- Power-cycle only after checking the connectors: disconnect the supply, wait at least 30 seconds, reconnect, then dock the mower once.
What the result tells you
No station indication or response
Suspect the outlet, power supply, low-voltage cable or station connection before the mower battery.
Charging starts when the mower is pressed forward
The docking alignment or contact pressure is the leading issue. Clean, level and align the station.
Charging begins but stops quickly
Temperature, contact resistance, battery condition or charger electronics may be involved. Record the displayed message and charge percentage.
Station is powered but the mower never recognises docking
The contact assembly, mower charging circuit or internal connection needs model-specific testing.
Likely causes
- Contaminated or wet charging contacts
- Station not level or contacts not meeting fully
- Power-supply or low-voltage cable fault
- Battery temperature outside its charging range
- Aged battery or internal charging electronics fault
When to stop: Do not continue charging if contacts are burnt, plastic is distorted, a connector is hot, or the battery casing appears swollen.
